Back From Hiatus

I have been gone from the blog for awhile. The flu ran its course through my household and kept Robert and I down for a solid week. Before it made the rounds to us, my youngest had it along with an ear infection, taking him down for the count.

Not much has happened while I've been away. Valentine's Day came and went and we spent it at Twin Peaks and Daddy Rabbit's. No complaints about that--to me, V-Day is just another day on the calendar.

Lent is coming up next week and I am super excited! Although I am not Catholic, I thoroughly enjoy taking part in Lent. I am at a loss as to what to give up for the duration, however. Suggestions anyone? I don't drink much pop, don't consume sweets. Maybe I should forego... oh, crap, I don't know.

Restless

I haven't slept well this week. I have woken up like clockwork at 2 am since Sunday.

I thoroughly believe I did something to ruin a newly revisited old friendship and it's bothering the everloving shit out of me because for the life of me, I can't figure out what happened.

I cried about it coming home from dinner tonight and Robert asked me where my backbone is. Well, Roberto, it's gone with the wind just like my friend.

Heath Ledger

Last night I dreamed about him. He was dressed as when he played Ennis Del Mar in Brokeback Mountain and we were having a really deep conversation about life.
He told me I have to do what makes me happy because we don't get second chances. I cried and told him how sorry I was that he was gone and he said that no person and no thing is ever really "gone" because it's the people in their lives that keep them alive forever.
He asked me if I had thought about the kind of legacy I want to leave and I told him I didn't know. He stood up, gave me a long hug and he said, "Think about it, Marissa. People love you and they will remember you."
