I went with Robert to meet the GI specialist on Thursday and the appointment was less than productive.
He reviewed Robert's symptoms and poked on the lower portion of Robrt's stomach asking if it hurt. I was under the impression that Dr. Mosier would be at the appointment as well but that was not the case. The scope is scheduled for this upcoming Thursday but since I don't exactly know what's to happen, I won't even try to speculate.
Robert hasn't had one bout of stomach problems since the appointment and I know he's tempted to cancel the appointment but I know that isn't wise. In the meantime, all we can do is wait.

Doctor, Doctor
I'm taking the hubs to a GI specialist tomorrow afternoon. For those who don't know, he had lap-band surgery two and a half years ago and has lost around 265 lbs.
Up until now, it's been smooth sailing but about a month ago, he began complaining of heartburn-like symptoms. It's gradually gotten worse and he says it feels like he's drinking buffalo wing sauce. Even worse, he began vomiting blood about a week ago--a pretty substantial amount every time.
We have a friend who went through the exact same thing and it was ulcers caused by the band slipping. Tomorrow he'll have to drink Barium and they'll take X-Rays. I'm hoping for the best but expecting the worst. Update soon to follow and to read about his lap-band journey, check out www.wcmessenger.com/losingbattle.
